In The News: Pedestrian Safety Trends 

GHSA projects more than seven thousand four hundred pedestrians were killed in traffic crashes last year, an increase of over eleven percent from the year before. The pedestrian fatality rate remains at a historically high level and you can read more in this recent report.

Reaching Parents:
Successful "Hot Car" Event

Safe Kids Pitt County hosted a live demonstration using s'mores and tracking the temperature inside a vehicle to show parents how quickly the temperature rises. Three local TV stations covered the event.

The thermometer clings were a hit at our Never Leave Your Child Alone event to show parents how quickly a car can heat to a very dangerous temperature." - Ellen M.
