Recent News 

A letter to the New England Journal of Medicine revealed that firearms are now the leading cause of death for America’s Children based on the CDC’s updated mortality data. (Stay tuned for Firearm Safety resources being released this summer.) The letter also pointed out that "drug overdose and poisoning increased by 83.6% from 2019 to 2020 among children and adolescents, becoming the third leading cause of death in that age group."

Upcoming Event: Drowning Prevention Day

 

National Drowning Prevention Day will be held on July twenty-third as a means of raising awareness of the catastrophic and long-term effects of drowning on families and communities, as well as life-saving ways to prevent it. Drowning is one of the leading causes of fatalities for children ages five to fourteen.
