Heatstroke Awareness Resources

Spring has sprung and there's no better time to gather materials to help promote safety in the warmer weather! And with Heatstroke Awareness Day around the corner on May 1, we simply want to help support any efforts you have planned. It’s alarming to know 906 children have died due to vehicular heatstroke since 1998 and we’re thankful for those raising awareness.

We continue to stay informed about preventing heat-related illness and want to highlight some of our most popular resources for this topic. Let us know if you have a specific need in mind!

Our window cling thermometer is a great reminder for parents to never leave a child in the car. Just place it inside a car window and parents can actually see how quickly the temperature in the car climbs to unsafe levels – after they’ve removed their child. This 5" x 5" item measures temperatures from 50 to 150 degrees and can be customized!

We also have fans to not only raise awareness but help people stay a bit cooler. This 8" x 8" resource can be used at churches, concerts, sports and other events. It's laminated on both sides and can also be customized with your brand and safety messaging.

According to the National Safety Council, the number of vehicular heatstroke deaths in 2021 was a record low due to the pandemic and less time spent traveling. But as the world continues to open up, we know how important it is to keep this topic at the forefront. We can’t forget that animals are at risk too! In fact, they are at risk for heatstroke even in 75-degree weather.

Please be encouraged to share any of our Heatstroke Prevention Resources with parents, caregivers, schools, and traffic safety advocates to remind everyone to “look before you lock!”
