Prepared To Prevent

Injuries are a large threat to our communities, a threat for which we have an array of effective prevention strategies. We applaud the efforts of numerous local, state, and national leaders that are carrying out their work to its fullest potential through a variety of effective strategies.

As we prepare for National Injury Prevention Day coming up on November 18th, we want to highlight the work being done by the Injury Free Coalition For Kids. On this day, we’ll join forces and push for change with the “Shine a Green Light” campaign. As the sun goes down, many hospitals, landmarks, businesses, monuments, neighborhoods, and government offices will “shine a green light” to mark the occasion. How can you get involved?

Summer brings the opportunity to enjoy warmer days, more travel, and more chances to engage with the community. We understand the raised concern of hurricane season, heatstroke, bike safety, and more. You are welcome to download and pass this complimentary Hurricane Safety Activity Page and Checklist to others. You may also be interested in:

  • After The Storm Activity Book: To help parents and children learn how to create and use a family emergency plan, what to do when the power goes out, and more.
  • Heatstroke Thermometer: To cling to a parent’s window as a reminder to always look before locking the car, measuring temperatures from 50 to 150 degrees.
  • Bicycle Safety Card with Zipper Pull: To promote bicycle safety, feature your organization, and give children a practical way to help drivers see them.

The CDC also offers a variety of Injury Prevention Tips so we can all be “Prepared To Prevent.” If you have an initiative coming up or are in need of updating your resources with affordable and customizable options, please contact us and we’ll be happy to support your needs.
