Safe Routes To School

As the weather grows nicer, you may notice more activity when you’re driving. Whether its teachers walking their classes to the local library or children walking or riding their bikes home after school, the streets in our communities can be active this time of year!

We want to acknowledge our friends at the National Partnership for Safe Routes to School, who do an amazing job working with their partners to support and advance Safe Routes to School programs. More than 750 groups have pledged their support for this partnership and I’m Safe is proud to be named among them. You can browse their resources too!

By creating safe places for everyone, communities take a major step towards meeting the national goal of ending traffic deaths on roads. This Safe Routes website highlights more important initiatives:

  • Bike to School Day: On May 20th you can get on your bike and celebrate the benefits of being safe and active. The goal is to increase local leader commitment and visibility for traffic safety and community quality of life. See how else how you can get involved for this specifically.
  • Vision Zero for Youth: This ongoing initiative builds on how cities and communities across the USA are taking a bold lead in setting ambitious goals to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries. It encourages communities and their elected officials to focus on safety improvements.

I’m Safe works closely with organizations on multiple initiatives throughout the year and has partnered to offer numerous safety products centered around pedestrian safety, school zones, and more. Whether it be through Bike Safety and Pedestrian Safety, or Traffic Safety materials as a whole, we are proud to work with those in the community that are making a positive impact.
